Palestinian President, Cypriot Counterpart Discuss Developments in Occupied Territories

Nicosia: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed, in a phone call Monday, with his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides, bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. President Abbas informed his Cypriot counterpart of the Palestinian position on the necessity of committing to an immediate ceasefire and the importance of its sustainability, the entry of humanitarian aid and its delivery to those who deserve it, and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, the phone call emphasized the critical need for international intervention to facilitate a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected areas. The discussion also highlighted the significance of maintaining open and continuous dialogue between Cyprus and Palestine to address ongoing regional issues and foster peace and stability.
