Palestinian Presidency Warns of Serious Consequences of Israeli Occupation’s Attempts to Thwart Efforts Toward Ceasefire in Gaza

Doha: The Palestinian Presidency warned today of the serious consequences of the Israeli occupation government's attempts to derail efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and halting its aggression in the West Bank. Spokesman for Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh called on the US administration to press the Israeli occupation to respond to efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive cessation of aggression that includes all Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abu Rudeineh stressed that the Palestinian people are facing a comprehensive war on their cities, villages, and camps, as well as a financial blockade. He added that true security and peace can be realized only by recognizing the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

He noted that the US administration's statements calling for a halt to the war in the Gaza Strip must be accompanied by a firm and strong stance to halt the aggression against the cities, villages, and camps of the West Bank and to abide by international legitimacy resolutions, as this is the only way to achieve security and stability in the region.
