Palestinian Presidency Warns Against Israeli Plan to Establish “Morag Axis” Separating Rafah from Gaza Strip

Gaza City: The Palestinian Presidency warned on Tuesday against Israel's continued efforts to establish the so-called "Morag axis," aimed at isolating the city of Rafah from the rest of Gaza Strip. It condemned the move as an attempt to entrench permanent control over the Strip and divide it into isolated enclaves in preparation for mass displacement, calling it a clear violation of international law and UN resolutions, which affirm that Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Presidency strongly rejected and condemned these Israeli plans, which it said expose the occupation's true intentions to prolong its aggression and expand its settlement policy by seizing more Palestinian land.

The statement also emphasized the urgent need to halt Israeli assaults in the West Bank, particularly in the northern cities, villages, and refugee camps. It highlighted that Israeli forces continued their attacks on Jenin and its camp for the 78th consecutive day, and on Tulkarm and its camps for the 72nd day, as well as other camps across West Bank, carrying out widespread killings, arrests, home demolitions, and destruction of Palestinian infrastructure.
