Gaza: The Palestinian Presidency urged countries around the world to pressure the Israeli entity to expedite the entry of prefabricated homes and tents into Gaza Strip, to confront the severe weather conditions that are endangering civilians' lives. It stressed that the few remaining tents in the Strip are worn out and torn, offering neither protection from rain nor basic shelter.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Presidency called for lifting the Israeli restrictions and obstacles that prevent the Palestinian government from delivering mobile housing units, tents, and shelter equipment to the Strip, warning that the dire humanitarian situation is exposing children, women, and the elderly to grave risks.
Gaza Strip has been under the impact of a severe low-pressure system for two days, bringing heavy rainfall across its cities, accompanied by strong winds and a sharp drop in temperatures. The conditions flooded hundreds of tents and further exacerbated the suffering of displaced families and those living amid the rubble of homes destroyed by more than two years of Israeli aggression, which devastated essential services and wiped out the humanitarian infrastructure across the Strip.
