Palestinian National Council Condemns Israeli Shelling of Shelters as War Crime

Gaza City: The Palestinian National Council (PNC) has condemned the actions of Israeli occupation forces, following an attack on shelters in Jabalia and the Yaffa School in the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City. The shelling resulted in the deaths of several children and women, whom the PNC states were burned to death. The council has labeled this act as a war crime against humanity.

According to Qatar News Agency, the PNC's statement, released on Wednesday, outlined its view that the deliberate targeting of defenseless civilians in shelters signifies an escalation in genocide and ethnic cleansing policies by Israel's extremist right-wing government.

The PNC's statement further criticized the continued silence of the international community, suggesting that it has evolved from mere complicity to a partnership in the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians. The council warned of potential repercussions on international peace and security if these crimes continue unabated.

In its concluding remarks, the PNC urged the international community to uphold international treaties and humanitarian laws. It called for immediate and serious actions to halt the aggression, protect innocent lives, hold perpetrators accountable, and work towards ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
