Palestinian Foreign Ministry Holds International Community Responsible for its Inability to Stop the Israeli Aggression

Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday held the international community directly responsible for its failure to halt the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people, its inability to enforce international law and the provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice, and its failure to ensure access to basic human needs guaranteed under international humanitarian law.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Ministry warned against the international community’s treatment of crimes of genocide, displacement, annexation, and the unprecedented suffering and injustice endured by the Palestinian people as mere statistics or normalized occurrences simply because they happen on a daily basis.

It also cautioned against the international community’s and states’ limited and inadequate reactions to what the Palestinian people are facing, responses that, the ministry said, fall far short of the legal and moral responsibilities the international community bears in light of the escalating acts of genocide, particularly amid the ongoing assault on Gaza.

This comes as Israeli leaders openly boast about their ability to destroy, kill, displace, and render the Gaza Strip uninhabitable.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called for the urgent provision of international protection for the Palestinian people and an end to the occupation’s violent isolation of Palestinian civilians.

It stressed that remaining silent or acceptance of the imposed choices of death or displacement on the Palestinian people amounts to complicity, and reflects a blatant double standard, not only in the political handling of major global issues but also in the most basic principles and standards of human rights.
