Doha: Pakistani Security forces have killed four militants during an intelligence-based operation in Kalat District of Balochistan in the southwest of Pakistan.

According to Qatar News Agency, Radio Pakistan quoted a statement from the Pakistani army as saying that the operation was conducted on reported presence of militants in the area.

During the conduct of operation, Pakistani forces effectively engaged the militants' location, and after an intense fire exchange, four militants were killed, the statement said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, it added.
