OpenAI announced the postponement of the launch of its previously announced Voice Mode, which was to be made available within a few weeks to ChatGPT premium account holders.
OpenAI said it was planning to start rolling out the audio mode for a small group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June, but was forced to postpone the launch until next July due to ongoing technical issues.
It was working to improve the model’s ability to detect and reject specific content, improve user experience and prepare expansion infrastructure to serve millions of users while maintaining real-time responses.
The company explained that it will test voice mode with a small group of users initially to gather feedback, and then expand based on users’ feedback.
Advanced audio placement in ChatGPT can understand and respond to non-verbal emotions and signals based on them, to provide natural real-time conversations with AI, according to the company.
