Beirut: One person was killed today in an Israeli raid on a town in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon, said the Lebanese ministry of health in a statement today.

According to Qatar News Agency, an Israeli tank penetrated the outskirts of the towns of Aitaroun and Maroun Al-Ras, approximately one kilometer into Lebanese territory, before returning to its position.

A ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon went into effect on November 27, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli forces from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. The Beirut government subsequently agreed to extend the deadline until February 18. However, the Israeli army remained at five points and continued its violations.
