Kirkuk: Crude oil pumping from the fields of the Kurdistan Region and Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan via the pipeline linking Iraq and Turkiye has been halted. Sources in the Iraqi oil sector said Monday that pumping through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline has been temporarily suspended following the cessation of operations by several oil companies working in the Kurdistan Region's fields. This has impacted the flow of oil exported through the pipeline. According to Qatar News Agency, relevant authorities in the oil sector informed the North Oil Company of the stoppage, which in turn notified the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. The sources indicated that the volume of oil exported through the pipeline before the halt was estimated at approximately 200,000 barrels per day. They noted that no date has yet been set for resuming pumping operations, given the ongoing circumstances that led to the production stoppage in some fields. The relevant authorities are monitoring developments in preparation for restarting the pi peline. The Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline is one of the most important oil export lines in Kurdistan, as it transports oil produced from the Kirkuk and Kurdistan Region fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean Sea in preparation for exporting it to global markets.
