OIC Lodges Written Memos with ICJ on Israel’s Obligation toward UN Operations in Occupied Territories

Doha: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has submitted written memos to the International Court of Justice pertaining to the advisory opinion on Israel’s obligations toward the operations of the United Nations, other international organizations, and third states in the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to Qatar News Agency, the organization underscored the importance of these legal efforts to counter Israel’s measures as the de facto occupying power, along with its null laws prohibiting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) from conducting its operations in the occupied Palestinian territories as of January 30, 2025.

The OIC reiterated its unwavering support for UNRWA, the agency that was established based on a resolution from the UN General Assembly to serve the Palestinian refugees until a just and an enduring solution to their cause is achieved.
