Jerusalem: The number of Palestinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem detained in Israeli prisons since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to over 11,800, including 435 women, 775 children, and 136 journalists. According to Qatar News Agency, a joint statement from the Commission of Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners Club, and the Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association (Addameer) revealed that administrative detention orders since the start of the Israeli aggression on Palestinians have exceeded 10,000. These include both new and renewed orders, some of which were issued against children and women. The statement further disclosed that at least 45 detainees have been martyred in Israeli prisons since Oct. 7, with their identities revealed, including 27 martyrs from Gaza. Many others have been martyred in prisons and detention centers, with Israeli authorities not revealing their identities or the circumstances of their deaths. Additionally, dozens were subjected to field executions. The bodies of 43 martyrs, whose deaths have been officially announced, are still being held by Israeli authorities, according to the statement. The count of detainees since the start of the aggression includes those arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those held as hostages.
