Norwegian Prime Minister to Seek Increased Economic Support for Ukraine

London: Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store announced on Saturday that his government will soon request an increase in economic support for Ukraine from the parliament. Store emphasized the urgency of this proposal, indicating that the government will approach the parliament in the near future to seek approval for enhanced support.

According to Qatar News Agency, last year, the Norwegian parliament approved NOK 35 billion (USD 3.12 billion) in military and civilian support for Ukraine for the year 2025. This approval is part of a broader allocation of NOK 155 billion designated for the years 2023 to 2030. The proposed increase in support underscores Norway’s continued commitment to aiding Ukraine in its ongoing challenges.

Store is also scheduled to meet with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in London on Sunday, where discussions are expected to focus on the current situation in Ukraine and the necessary international support required to address it.
