New Success for Qatari Mediation in Afghanistan

Doha: The Qatari daily Al-Raya highlighted Qatar's success in a new humanitarian mediation that secured the release of two British nationals in Afghanistan, who arrived in Doha before later departing for London.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspaper praised Qatar for continuing to harness its active diplomacy for the benefit of humanity, earning broad international respect and growing recognition for its influential humanitarian role. The paper noted that despite the recent Israeli attack on Doha and Qatar's ongoing efforts to hold the occupation accountable, the country has never abandoned its international commitments and once again activated its mediation efforts.

It stressed that Qatar consistently promotes direct dialogue and political solutions, grounded in a firm belief in multilateral cooperation, placing the protection of human dignity and rights above all else. Qatari mediation, it added, always seeks to uphold humanitarian values by saving lives and guaranteeing fundamental rights.

Al Raya recalled that the State of Qatar's mediation successes are countless and span every continent, addressing major global crises simultaneously. The country is currently active in mediation efforts in Gaza, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Colombia, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and has achieved breakthroughs in many complex cases.

The editorial reminded readers that when the world needed to evacuate its citizens from Afghanistan, Qatar responded with the largest humanitarian evacuation in history, and it has repeatedly brought about positive outcomes in other international crises, cementing its reputation as a nation that spreads peace and reconciliation among states and peoples.

The newspaper concluded that few can match Qatar's standing as a country that dedicates all its resources to serving humanity. Its development and relief aid spans the globe, and its mediations remain a beacon of hope for reuniting prisoners and hostages with their families, regardless of race or religion, reflecting Qatar's belief that humanity has the power to unite all people.
