Nepal’s New Prime Minister Pledges to Meet Protesters’ Demands

Doha: Nepal's newly appointed Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, has pledged to meet protesters' demands and end corruption, following riots this week that have left dozens dead. In her first statement after taking office, Karki stressed the need to respond to the protesters' call for ending corruption, good governance, and economic equality.

According to Qatar News Agency, Karki was sworn in on Friday after being appointed as Nepal's prime minister to lead a six-month transitional period leading to elections. This appointment comes in the wake of deadly protests that toppled the previous government. The new prime minister aims to address the grievances of the citizens by focusing on governance issues and working towards economic reforms.
