NCAG Chairperson Outlines Mission to Rebuild Gaza Strip

Cairo: Chairperson of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), Ali Shaath, announced today the signing of the first official document that outlines the committee's mission, affirming its mandate and defining its principles of operation and responsibilities.

According to Qatar News Agency, Shaath shared on his X platform that the committee is dedicated to reconstructing Gaza Strip's infrastructure, revitalizing its social fabric, and restoring hope for the future. He emphasized that NCAG is committed to transforming the transitional phase in the Gaza Strip into a solid foundation for sustainable Palestinian prosperity. This commitment is rooted in the powers granted to the committee by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the 20-point peace plan introduced by US President Donald Trump. The committee aims to establish security and restore essential services, which are fundamental to human dignity.

Shaath elaborated that the essential services include electricity, water, healthcare, and education, along with supporting a society grounded on the values of peace, democracy, and the rule of law. He asserted that NCAG will strive to develop a sustainable, productive economy that can turn challenges into opportunities, reducing unemployment and creating genuine job opportunities for a dignified life for all.

The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza recently held its inaugural meeting in Cairo, where it announced its mandate to assume civil and internal security responsibilities in the Gaza Strip. The committee is tasked with overseeing the stability, recovery, and reconstruction of the Strip until the Palestinian Authority completes its reform program.
