Doha: HRH Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar, Prince Saad bin Mansour bin Saad bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, stated that Qatar National Day, celebrated annually on December 18 to honor the country's founding by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, serves as a reminder of Qatar's ongoing journey of development.
According to Qatar News Agency, HRH the Saudi Ambassador emphasized that the celebration is not only a renewal of loyalty to the founder's principles but also a motivator to strive towards the goals set by Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030). It symbolizes Qatar's achievements both domestically and internationally and highlights its strategic partnerships, particularly with Saudi Arabia.
Over the years, Qatar has evolved into a model of modern progress across various sectors, including economic, educational, energy, health, and technology. This transformation is evident through significant national projects such as Hamad International Airport, Hamad Port, and the Doha Metro. The advanced road and tunnel networks are a testament to Qatar's infrastructural development.
HRH the Ambassador noted that Qatari citizens are central to the nation's development, supporting major projects, including the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which received acclaim as one of the best-organized editions.
The Ambassador highlighted Qatar's capability for strategic planning, as reflected in QNV 2030, which guides sustainable development, quality of life enhancement, and cultural preservation.
On the foreign policy front, Qatar has established a strong global presence through active diplomacy focused on dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. This approach has facilitated consensus on numerous regional and international issues, earning Qatar considerable international respect.
Regarding Saudi-Qatari relations, HRH the Ambassador stressed their foundation on a rich historical, social, and cultural legacy. Both nations' leaderships are committed to advancing their ties through the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, which addresses strategic sectors like energy, investment, education, culture, and defense, thus fostering economic integration and policy coordination on critical regional and international matters.
