Doha: The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement to lift sanctions on Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Tuesday, the international organization that covers all Islamic countries and sects hailed Trump's decision as a key turning point for the Syrian people, consolidating the country's stability and supporting its path to a better future.
