Doha: The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the so-called "Somaliland" region's opening of a "purported" embassy in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MWL voiced its appreciation for the contents of the statement issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Turkiye, Pakistan, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Mauritania, Kuwait, Algeria, and Bangladesh. The statements completely rejected any unilateral measures aimed at consolidating an illegal reality in occupied Jerusalem or granting legitimacy to any entities or arrangements that violate the rules of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. They also emphasized their support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, rejecting any unilateral measures that affect the unity of Somali territory or diminish its sovereignty.
The statement reaffirmed the MWL's full support for the unity, sovereignty, and legitimate institutions of Somalia, which express the will of the Somali people.
