Muscat Stock Exchange Index Rises Over Past Week

Muscat: The main index of the Muscat Stock Exchange posted a weekly gain of around 210 points, recovering previous losses to close at 8,369 points, supported by gains in blue-chip stocks.

According to Qatar News Agency, sectoral indices recorded broad-based increases, led by the financial sector, which rose by 210 points. This was followed by the industrial sector, which increased by 123 points, and the services sector, which was up by 84 points. The Sharia index also edged up by 10 points.

The market capitalization of listed securities recorded gains of OMR 351.3 million over the past week, reaching OMR 38.43 billion. Additionally, trading value rose by 25 percent to OMR 370.1 million, while the number of transactions exceeded 27,000.
