The grief of losing her husband of four decades made one doctor physically sick. The 80-year-old medic cannot even recall what she remembers of her husband’s death, the images that flood her mind are so distressing. He died last April, after being brought away from their home by paramedics clad from head to toe in protective clothing. She waited 12 days while her husband was on a ventilator, unable to see him for fear of spreading Covid-19.
