Morocco Records 50.5 Billion Dirham Budget Deficit

Rabat: The Moroccan General Treasury announced Monday that the budget deficit reached 50.5 billion dirhams at the end of September (USD 1 = 9.17 Moroccan dirhams).

According to Qatar News Agency, the monthly bulletin on public finance statistics, issued by the Moroccan General Treasury for the end of the third quarter of 2025, revealed a budget deficit of 50.5 billion dirhams at the end of September, compared to 26.6 billion dirhams in the previous year.

The bulletin indicated that gross ordinary revenues increased by 17.4 percent to reach 310.7 billion dirhams, driven by a rise in direct and indirect taxes, customs duties, registration fees, and non-tax revenues.

Net customs revenues saw an increase, reaching 72.97 billion dirhams, which marks a 7.3 percent rise. Meanwhile, regular outgoing expenditures grew by 18.9 percent to 280.2 billion dirhams, with investment expenditures also rising by 7.2 percent to 78 billion dirhams.
