Senegal’s Prime Minister Amadou Ba, a candidate in the February 25 presidential election, commended, on Thursday in Dakar, the excellent and age-old relations between his country and Morocco, stressing that the Kingdom is a “privileged partner of Senegal in all areas.”
Amadou Ba was speaking in a statement to journalists following the closing ceremony of the 50th Conference of the International Francophone Press Union (UPF), held in Dakar with the participation of some one hundred media representatives from the French-speaking world, including Morocco.
Relations between Morocco and Senegal “are age-old” and go back a long way, said the head of the Senegalese government, adding that Senegalese citizens “are well received in Morocco” and so are Moroccans here in Senegal.
The “already excellent” relations between the two countries “have been strengthened and amplified”, added Amadou Ba, noting in this respect that “today, Moroccan investments are very present in Senegal in the fields of banking and insurance
and in all other sectors.’
The closing ceremony of this 50th UPF Conference, held from January 9 to 11 under the theme “Media, Peace, Security”, was attended by UPF President Madiambal Diagne and media professionals from 43 French-speaking countries.
