MOEHE Celebrates Schools for Excellence in Volunteer Work Competition.

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) recently celebrated the winning schools in the best volunteer work competition, a key feature of the volunteering week program organized in collaboration with Qatar Charity. This event was held to honor International Volunteer Day, drawing attention to the importance of community service. According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including HE Undersecretary of MOEHE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MOEHE Maha Al Ruwaili, and Head of Volunteering Department at Qatar Charity Jassim Muhammad Al Emadi. Representatives from schools, students, and experts in volunteer work also participated in the event. In the boys' school category, Hetteen Model School for Boys secured the first position, while Omar bin Al Khattab Model School for Boys took the second place. Nusaybah bint Kaab Primary School for Girls emerged as the winner in the girls' school category, followe d by Maymouna Primary School for Girls in second place, and AlBayan Preparatory School for Girls in third. Acknowledging the most active schools during the volunteering week, Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Model School for Boys led the boys' category, with Al Imam Al Shafei Preparatory School for Boys and Khalifa Secondary School for Boys following. In the girls' category, Al Markhiyah Primary School for Girls claimed the top spot, followed by Sawda bint Zama Preparatory School for Girls and Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls. HE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, during a press statement, emphasized the significance of nurturing a culture of volunteering among the youth, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. He expressed pride in the students for their dedication and highlighted the role of MOEHE in building a responsible society. Dr. Al Nuaimi also lauded Qatar Charity's 'Ezdehar' initiative for its impact on the schooling environment and volunteer work promotion. He further noted the exce ptional organization of activities, attributing the success to the coordinated efforts between Qatar Charity and MOEHE's School and Student Affairs Department. His Excellency stressed the necessity of integrating volunteer work into daily life and the Ministry's strategy, as it is vital for realizing the human element of the Qatar National Vision 2030 across social, environmental, and economic domains. Dr. Al Nuaimi announced plans to make volunteer work mandatory for preparatory school students, similar to secondary school students, requiring 25 hours of volunteer work annually. This initiative aims to foster altruism and community belonging. Engineer Nasser Al Moghaiseeb, Community Awareness Manager at Nama Center, highlighted volunteer work as essential for community building and individual development. Meanwhile, Fatima Youssef Al Obaidli, Assistant Director of the School Affairs and Students Department at MOEHE, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to equipping youth with education grounded in humane v alues and social responsibility. Fatima Jumaa Al Muhannadi, Head of the Initiatives and Volunteering Department at Qatar Charity, underscored volunteering as a lifestyle that propels societies forward and instills noble values in the youth. She praised the collaboration between Qatar Charity and MOEHE as a testament to their shared commitment to promoting volunteerism.
