Doha: HE Minister of Transport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani met Thursday with HE Permanent Secretary of the Rwandan Ministry of Defence, Major General Celestin Kanyamahanga. Talks during the meeting dealt with aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of civil aviation, and ways to develop them, especially in the fields of training pilots and technicians.
According to Qatar News Agency, following the meeting, Director General of the Qatar Aeronautical Academy, HE Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al-Thani, and HE Major General Celestin Kanyamahanga, in the presence of HE the Minister of Transport, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Qatar Aeronautical Academy and the Rwandan Ministry of Defence on cooperation in the fields of training and aircraft maintenance.
The MOU is aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries in the field of technical training and providing specialised training services by the Qatar Aeronautical Academy in aircraft maintenance, in addition to training aircraft maintenance technicians in the Rwandan Air Force according to the standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of Qatar and Rwanda to advancing technical expertise and promoting capacity building in the aviation and defense sectors.
