Vienna: HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie held a series of meetings with international officials during the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. These meetings focused on enhancing cooperation in nuclear regulation, climate change, and clean energy initiatives.
According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Subaie discussed regulatory oversight of nuclear and radiological activities with Dr. Khalid Al Issa, CEO of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission of Saudi Arabia. They explored national emergency plans and the exchange of expertise in these areas.
In discussions with Finland’s Minister of Climate and Environment Sari Multala, the focus was on bilateral cooperation in environmental fields and strengthening partnerships to support sustainability goals.
Meetings with Dr. Michael Goff from the US Department of Energy and Karine Herviou from the IAEA highlighted opportunities for cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy uses and its role in combating climate change and supporting clean energy transitions.
