Meteorology Warns of Poor Horizontal Visibility and Strong Winds

Doha: Weather inshore, until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, will be misty to foggy at places at first, becomes moderate temperature, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of poor horizontal visibility at places at first.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will start as hazy to misty, with some clouds appearing by night. Strong winds and high seas are expected by the afternoon. The wind inshore will initially be variable at less than 05 KT, shifting to Northwesterly at 05 - 15 KT, with gusts reaching up to 24 KT at times.

Offshore, northwesterly winds will begin at 07 - 17 KT, increasing to 18 - 25 / 30 KT by afternoon. The sea state inshore is anticipated to be between 1 - 4 FT, rising to 5 FT by the afternoon. Offshore, the sea state will start at 2 - 4 FT, escalating to 5 - 8 / 10 FT by afternoon.

Visibility inshore is projected to be between 4 - 9 KM, dropping to 2 KM or less at certain places initially. Offshore visibility will range from 4 - 10 KM.

The Department of Meteorology has also provided tidal information for various areas. In Doha, high tide is expected at 04:05 and low tide at 11:33, with temperatures ranging from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius. Other areas such as Dukhan, Messaid, Wakrah, AlKhor, Ruwais, and Abusamra will experience varied high and low tides and temperatures. Sunrise is at 05:26 LT and sunset at 17:49 LT.
