Doha: The Department of Meteorology has warned of expected thundery rain accompanied by strong winds in some inshore areas, and thundery rain with strong winds and high seas offshore.
According to Qatar News Agency, the department's daily weather report indicates that inshore conditions until 6:00 pm on Friday will be hazy at first, becoming partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain that may turn thundery in some areas at times.
Offshore, the weather is forecast to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with scattered rain that may also become thundery.
Inshore winds will be variable at first, later shifting to southeasterly to northeasterly at 5 to 15 KT, gusting up to 25 KT during thundery rain. Offshore, winds will also be southeasterly to northeasterly at 5 to 15 KT, gusting to 25 KT in thundery conditions.
Sea state inshore is expected to range from 1 to 3 feet, rising to 5 feet during thundery rain, while offshore it will range from 2 to 4 feet, rising to 8 feet with thundery rain.
Visibility is forecast to range between 4 and 9 km, dropping to 3 km or less during thundery rain, both inshore and offshore.
