Meteorology Department Issues Warning for Strong Wind and High Seas Offshore

Doha: The Meteorology Department has issued a warning regarding expected strong winds and high seas offshore. The forecast for the period until 6:00 pm on Monday indicates that the weather will be relatively hot to hot in certain areas during the daytime, accompanied by slight dust. Offshore conditions will see scattered clouds at times.

According to Qatar News Agency, the wind inshore is expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from 6 to 16 knots (KT). Offshore, the wind will predominantly be northwesterly, reaching speeds of 10 to 20 KT, with gusts up to 28 KT in some areas by the afternoon.

The sea conditions inshore are predicted to be between 2 to 4 feet, potentially rising to 5 feet in certain areas by the afternoon. Offshore, the sea state is expected to be 3 to 6 feet, with the possibility of rising to 9 feet in some areas by the afternoon.

Visibility is expected to range from 5 to 9 kilometers inshore and from 5 to 10 kilometers offshore.
