Mediation Enduring Component of Qatar’s Foreign Policy, Strategic Commitment to Bolstering Stability, Says Ambassador to Germany

Kuwait city: The State of Qatar has made mediation an enduring component of its foreign policy, as well as a firm strategic commitment underscoring the nation's approach based on dialogue, forging understandings, and promoting stability, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany Abdalla bin Ibrahim Al Hamar underlined.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Al Hamar was speaking during the opening of events and panel discussions organized by the Arab Cultural House "Al Diwan" of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Germany, as part of Qatar's broad participation and high-profile representation at the Munich Security Conference.

Al Diwan-organized events are part of extending bridges of convergence between Qatari and German visions, at a time when cooperation has become an urgent imperative to achieve stability, Al Hamar pointed out. He stressed the importance of pursuing policies of dialogue and humanitarian and developmental approaches as essential tools in supporting security.

Al Hamar further emphasized the commitment of the judicious leadership of the State of Qatar to strengthening these policies through forging reliable partnerships and promoting multilateral coordination.

The objective is not merely to debate mediation as a theoretical notion, but rather to focus on practically implementing it in the current security landscape amid global perturbations and the deceleration of conventional diplomatic channels, Al Hamar noted.

He asserted that mediation is no longer just an integrated tool but has become a strategic imperative imposed by increasing and complex challenges, affirming that enduring stability is not based solely on strength and deterrence, but on the capability to keep dialogue channels open under the most challenging circumstances, because when dialogue continues, it provides opportunities for practical solutions.

The Qatari experience in mediation underpins long-term foundations of credibility, discipline, and engagement, as well as constructive work in sensitive political environments, Al Hamar highlighted.

Al Hamar further noted that effective mediation goes beyond merely bringing parties together, it encompasses forging trust and ensuring essential spaces are in place for progress even in the most intractable conflicts.

Concluding his remarks, Al Hamar emphasized that effective diplomacy is measured by its outcomes and the sustainable stability it achieves over the long term. He outlined that the approach pursued by the State of Qatar demonstrates that perseverant, disciplined, and reliable diplomacy is capable of achieving concrete breakthroughs even in the most intractable crises.
