MECC Confirms Safe Air Quality Levels Across Qatar

Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) has confirmed that air quality levels across Qatar remain within safe and normal parameters, based on continuous monitoring efforts.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MECC revealed on its X account that a comprehensive network of monitoring stations operates around the clock to track air conditions throughout the nation. This network ensures that any fluctuations in air quality are promptly detected and addressed.

The ministry has advised the public to exercise precautionary measures during times when there is an increase in fine particles in the air. Recommendations include staying indoors, especially for vulnerable groups, keeping windows closed, wearing masks when outdoors, and limiting outdoor activities. These measures are particularly important during periods when fine particles, primarily dust, are more prevalent.

The MECC further explained that the presence of these particles is both seasonal and temporary. They are primarily caused by dry northern winds and do not pose significant long-term health risks to the population. The ministry's continuous monitoring and public advisories aim to maintain public health and safety during these periods.
