Doha: The 24th Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championships concluded at the Qatar International Bowling Centre, showcasing a week of intense competition. Hosted by the Qatar Bowling Federation in collaboration with the Asian Bowling Federation, the event highlighted the prowess of junior bowlers from across Asia.
According to Qatar News Agency, Malaysia's Muhammad Aqil Faizal emerged victorious in the Boys' Masters event, claiming the gold medal. Kuwait's Nasser Al Kandari secured the silver, while Hong Kong's Dylan Lam took bronze. The Qatari team also put forth a commendable performance, with Talal Al Marri finishing fifth, Abdulrahman Al Dosari in seventh, and Musaad Al Muraikhi in eighth place. The team clinched four medals in total, including gold and silver in the doubles event, silver in the All-Events overall ranking, and bronze in the team event.
In the Girls' Masters event, Malaysia's Qurratu Ain Pozi took home the gold after defeating compatriot Adelia Nur Syazalee, who received the silver medal. Chinese Taipei's Huang Hsin-Tsen secured the bronze. The winners were crowned by Sheikh Talal Mohammad Al Sabah, President of the International Bowling Federation and the Asian Bowling Federation, along with Abdullah Sultan Al Qattan, President of the Qatar Bowling Federation.
Al Sabah praised the tournament's success, emphasizing the high level of organization and coaching that was recognized by all participants. He extended congratulations to Qatar for hosting a successful event and noted Kuwait's strong performance, securing three gold medals in the overall standings. Al Qattan expressed satisfaction with the tournament's outcome, highlighting the exceptional efforts by the organizing committee and the positive feedback from participating delegations.
The championships saw participation from 11 countries, including 79 male and 20 female players representing national teams from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India. The event was noted for its organizational success and the competitive spirit of the young athletes.
