Head of the ‘Movement for Change,’ Attorney Elie Mahfoud, considered in a statement today, that ‘there is no explanation for the arrogant method in imposing the appointment of a president for the Lebanese Republic,” adding that “whoever deals with us with this superiority and violates our constitutional entitlements is actually undermining the articles of the constitution and naming us a president in the manner of appointment…”

Mahfoud regretted that “this brings us back to the times of Ghazi Kanaan and Rustum Ghazaleh, where the appointment of the president was launched from Anjar or the Borivage.”
