Magnitude 5 Earthquake Strikes Pakistan

Islamabad: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck the northern regions of Pakistan on Saturday, with no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.

According to Qatar News Agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 39 kilometers. This event follows a 5.2-magnitude earthquake that struck northwestern Pakistan in December of last year.

In 2005, Pakistan experienced a devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake that claimed thousands of lives, highlighting the region's vulnerability to seismic events.
