Liverpool Opens Premier League Campaign with 4-2 Win Over Bournemouth


Liverpool: Liverpool began its Premier League season with a 4-2 victory over Bournemouth on Friday at Anfield.



According to Qatar News Agency, Hugo Ekitike opened the scoring in the 37th minute, followed by Cody Gakpo’s goal in the 49th. Bournemouth responded with two goals from Antoine Semenyo in the 64th and 76th minutes to level the match.



Federico Chiesa restored Liverpool’s lead in the 88th minute, and Mohamed Salah sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+4th minute.



The defending champions avoided a draw after Bournemouth’s comeback, scoring twice late to secure all three points.



Liverpool extended its dominant record against Bournemouth, claiming its 13th win in 14 meetings and seventh straight victory at Anfield.



Separately, Liverpool announced the signing of Italian defender Giovanni Leone from Parma on a six-year deal.
