Libya and Qatar Sign Strategic Agreement for Misrata Port Terminal Expansion

Misrata: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, alongside HE Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya, Abdulhamid Mohammed Dbeibah, and HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, Antonio Tajani, attended the signing of a strategic partnership agreement for the development and expansion of the port terminal in the Misrata Free Zone.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement involves collaboration between the Misrata Free Zone and companies from Qatar, Italy, and Switzerland. This partnership aims to enhance the infrastructure and operational capacity of the port terminal, boosting its role in regional trade and economic development.

A number of senior officials from both Qatar and Libya were present at the signing ceremony, underscoring the importance of this agreement. The involvement of high-ranking representatives from Italy further emphasizes the international interest in the development of the Misrata Free Zone.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted that this agreement signifies the strong and developing relations between Qatar and Libya. The leaders of both nations expressed their ongoing commitment to pursuing new investment opportunities that will benefit the peoples of their countries.
