Beirut: President of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun affirmed that the Lebanese state has the exclusive authority over war and peace, adding that the cabinet's decision banning illegal military and security activities is "a sovereign and final decision with no reversal."

According to Qatar News Agency, President Aoun reiterated Lebanon's full and final commitment to the cessation of hostilities framework to preserve peace and stability. He made this statement in a statement carried by the Lebanese National News Agency.

The Lebanese President called on the countries of the Quintet Committee to pressure the Israeli entity to stop its attacks on Lebanon, saying he greatly counts on their support. This appeal is especially significant given the committee's key role in halting security deterioration, ending the presidential vacuum, and supporting the restoration of constitutional institutions to fully perform their role.

He noted that the rockets launched recently towards Israel originated from outside the area south of the Litani River, where the Lebanese Army is fully deployed and performing its duties.
