Kuwait City: Kuwait's 47th International Book Fair will open next Wednesday, featuring 544 publishers from 31 Arab and foreign countries. The event will run through November 30 under the theme of the world in a book. According to Qatar News Agency, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters' Assistant Secretary-General for Culture Sector Aisha Al Mahmoud informed a press conference on Sunday that this year's slogan highlights the role of books in presenting culture. She mentioned that over 90 cultural activities will be held, including a children's culture pavilion and the celebration of Kuwaiti and Arab cultural symbols. Additionally, Kuwait University's Dr. Abdullah Al Ghunaim will be honored as the fair's character in recognition of his contributions to Kuwaiti culture and history.
