Kuwait’s 47th International Book Fair Kicks Off With 544 Participating Publishing Houses.


Kuwait City: Kuwait’s 47th International Book Fair kicked off Wednesday with the participation of 31 states (19 Arab countries and 12 foreign countries), approximately 544 publishing houses, with Jordan as a guest of honor for this edition that will run until Nov. 30, 2024. During the inauguration ceremony, Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman Badah Al Mutairi, said the fair is one of the most consequential cultural demonstrations held by Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, affirming that the cultural events that accompany this fair represent a beacon of light for the culture and history of Kuwait, along with its civilizational and humanitarian engagement with its regional and international surroundings.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mutairi emphasized that the event draws broader participation from foremost Arab and foreign publishing houses to surge knowledge and cultural richness. He stressed the importance of encouraging younger generations to read and expand
their literal and intellectual horizons and internalize skills and tools based on logic and enlightened thinking.
