Kuwaiti Cabinet Commends Qatar and Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Memorandum

Kuwait city: Kuwait's cabinet has expressed praise for the efforts made by Qatar and Pakistan, alongside other nations, in facilitating the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. This agreement mandates an immediate cessation of military operations and guarantees freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, among addressing other matters. The commendation came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Kuwaiti cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peaceful resolutions of disputes in alignment with international law and the United Nations Charter. It highlighted an aspiration for the understanding to lead to sustainable solutions, fostering good neighborly relations based on mutual respect, trust-building, and non-interference. The cabinet emphasized these principles as essential for regional and international security and stability.

Furthermore, the cabinet conveyed hope that the agreement would sustain the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. It urged all parties involved to approach future negotiations with positivity and constructiveness.
