Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation authorities’ announcement approving the construction of new settlement units in the West Bank and around occupied East Jerusalem.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement issued Friday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this move threatens the security and stability of the region and constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of settlements and the nullity of annexing occupied Palestinian territories.
Kuwait affirmed that this settlement step, along with its accompanying forced displacement operations, breaches the established historical and legal status quo and is considered an attempt to impose a de facto reality that undermines international efforts aimed at establishing a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The State of Kuwait renewed its call on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities to halt these violations and provide protection for the brotherly Palestinian people.
