Kuwait Bourse Closes Lower Amid Decrease in Indices

Kuwait city: Kuwait Bourse closed trading on Sunday with the All Share Index declining by 70.87 points, settling at 8,335.09 points, marking a decrease of 0.84 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the trading session witnessed the exchange of 135.3 million shares valued at KWD 41.7 million, approximately USD 128 million, across 14,218 transactions. The Main Market Index also saw a decline, dropping by 116.06 points to 7,600.12 points, a decrease of 1.50 percent. This was achieved through the trading of 59.9 million shares in 5,343 transactions valued at KWD 9.2 million, or roughly USD 28.2 million.

The Premier Market Index experienced a reduction of 64.82 points, closing at 8,924 points, which is a decline of 0.72 percent. This was the result of 75.4 million shares being exchanged in 8,875 transactions, with a total value of KWD 32.4 million, equivalent to about USD 100 million. Meanwhile, the bourse's Main 50 Index fell by 107.16 points to 7,862.38 points, a decrease of 1.34 percent. The transactions involved 46.3 million shares in 4,037 deals, valued at KWD 6.9 million, or approximately USD 21.18 million.
