According to Qatar News Agency, nominations will be accepted from universities, institutions, and scientific centers starting today until the end of March 2026. The themes for the 2027 awards range from the Islamic studies prize on contemporary applied jurisprudential studies to the Arabic language and literature prize, with the latter spotlighting efforts of institutions in Arabic language processing. The medicine prize centers on artificial intelligence in clinical medicine, while the science prize is dedicated to chemistry.
Secretary-General of the King Faisal Prize, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Sabeel, stated that a scientific topic is determined annually for each prize, affirming that it is an honorary award granted to individuals and institutions in recognition of their leading contributions to serving Islam and Muslims, in terms of intellectual, scientific, and social achievements through concrete activities, projects, and programs in the community.
Established in 1977, the prize aims to serve Muslims, inspire them to contribute to all areas of civilization, and nurture human knowledge. It was granted for the first time in 1979 in the five branches to outstanding individuals and institutions.
