King Abdullah II Reaffirms Jordan’s Rejection of Israel’s Plan for Gaza Takeover

Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan met in Amman with US Senate member, Jeanne Shaheen, and US House of Representatives member, Joe Wilson, to discuss bilateral relations and the joint efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East. King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's rejection of Israel's plan to consolidate the occupation of Gaza and expand military control over it, as well as expand settlement activity in the West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, King Abdullah emphasized the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of adequate humanitarian aid, and the support for Palestinians in regaining their just and legitimate rights. He stressed the need to achieve independent statehood for Palestinians based on the two-state solution.

King Abdullah also highlighted the significance of backing Syria's efforts in safeguarding its security, stability, and sovereignty during the discussions with the US officials.
