Katara’s European Jazz Festival Kicks Off with Participation from 11 European Embassies.

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is organizing the eighth edition of the Katara European Jazz Festival from the 5th to the 8th of December, in collaboration with 11 European embassies in Qatar. During a press conference, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, emphasized that the festival offers a unique opportunity to explore the musical diversity inherent in jazz. He highlighted that the event merges ancient traditions with modern artistic innovation, underscoring Katara's dedication to promoting cultural dialogue through music that bridges nations. He confirmed that organizing this annual cultural and artistic event is a source of pride for Katara, bringing together prominent European and international jazz bands, and reaffirming its role as a hub for culture, artistic creativity, and cultural exchange. According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Qatar, Paolo Toschi, remarked that art acts as a tool for connecting peoples and cultures. E ach year, this event strengthens ties between Qatar and Europe through music. Italy's contribution to this year's festival includes the band Collettivo Immaginario and singer Paola Gladys, whose repertoire blends Italian traditions with jazz and influences from the Americas and Africa. The audience in Doha will have the chance to enjoy these artists' performances for the first time in Qatar. HE Ambassador of the French Republic to Qatar, Jean-Baptiste Favre, stated that the French Embassy is proud to participate in the festival with musicians from the band Electric 4tet. Meanwhile, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Qatar, Simon Pullicino, noted that the international event showcases a diverse array of musical talents from Europe, celebrating the vibrant musical heritage that unites European peoples. He emphasized that jazz, with its creativity and shared values, helps bring people together. HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Qatar, William Asselborn, announced that the Belgian Embassy is pre senting the band Emocion, known for its fusion of classical music, jazz, and Latin rhythms. HE Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Qatar, Erika Bernhard, shared that the Austrian Embassy is participating through the Candlelight band, renowned for its contemporary jazz and captivating performances, reflecting Austrian creativity and musical excellence. The Katara European Jazz Festival, initiated in collaboration with European embassies in Qatar since 2014, features musical bands that perform both classical and contemporary European jazz masterpieces.
