Katara Hosts Tunisian Cultural and Heritage Days in Doha

Doha: The "Tunisian Cultural and Heritage Days in Doha - Tunisian Creativity in Qatar" began Thursday at the Cultural Village Foundation Katara and will run through June 1. General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, expressed his delight in hosting the event, highlighting it as a unique opportunity to delve into the rich aspects of Tunisian culture and identity. The program promises a diverse array of events including a fine arts exhibition, a literary and poetry symposium, culinary performances, a traditional fashion show, and a musical evening featuring authentic Tunisian melodies. Dr. Al Sulaiti underscored Katara's belief that culture serves as a bridge between peoples, fostering communication and strengthening Arab brotherhood.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the State of Qatar, Farhad Khalif, emphasized that the activities celebrate Tunisia's creative spirit and the ingenuity of its citizens in Qatar. He described the event as a vital space for cultural convergence, reflecting the deep historical and emotional ties between the Tunisian and Qatari peoples. The event is seen as an embodiment of heritage, art, and taste, showcasing the authenticity and cultural diversity of Tunisia through the creativity of its artists, intellectuals, and residents in Qatar.

The ambassador noted that the first day would feature an exhibition highlighting the aesthetics of Tunisian art with paintings and handicrafts that marry heritage with a contemporary spirit. This includes textiles, pottery, and traditional jewelry that blend authenticity and elegance. HE the ambassador also extended gratitude to Katara for its pivotal role in organizing and ensuring the success of this cultural event.
