London: King Abdullah II of Jordan held a phone call on Sunday with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which they discussed efforts to de-escalate the dangerous situation unfolding in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, King Abdullah stressed the need to intensify international diplomatic efforts to achieve a comprehensive de-escalation, warning of the consequences of further escalation and rising tensions in the region.
He reaffirmed that Jordan will not be a battlefield for any conflict, and will not allow its security, stability, or the safety of its citizens to be compromised.
The King also emphasized the importance of maintaining international attention on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, calling for efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the delivery of adequate humanitarian aid, and halt escalation in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
