Jordan’s King Abdullah II Advocates for Comprehensive Gaza Reconstruction Initiative

Doha: Jordan's King Abdullah II reiterated his complete rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands. He emphasized the importance of supporting a clear plan for the reconstruction of Gaza within a defined timeline, to be presented to active partners to gain international support.

According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech at the Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo on Tuesday, King Abdullah highlighted the necessity of supporting the Palestinian National Authority's reform efforts to benefit the Palestinian people. He called for the development of a clear and implementable vision for managing Gaza and linking it with the West Bank to provide essential services and achieve the required security.

King Abdullah stressed the need to halt the dangerous escalation in the West Bank, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, to prevent extremists in the Israeli government from exacerbating the situation. He reaffirmed that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital. This solution would provide a comprehensive political horizon to stabilize the region and prevent further conflicts.

The King also underscored the importance of continuing the ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring the implementation of all its stages. He strongly opposed the Israeli decision to prevent humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, which violates international law.

King Abdullah of Jordan confirmed that Jordan will continue its efforts to support the resilience of the Palestinian people, provide aid to Gaza, protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and work towards a future of stability and prosperity for the region.

He explained that since the beginning of the unjust Israeli war on Gaza, Jordan's stance has been clear in rejecting displacement and any actions to undermine the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution. He called for an immediate and effective regional and international effort to address the tragedies, killings, terror, and destruction caused by the war on Gaza. King Abdullah emphasized that efforts should focus on providing shelter, medical treatment, and food to the people of Gaza and implementing plans to rebuild what the war destroyed.

The King of Jordan called for the continuation of the humanitarian response in Gaza, adding that his country will keep delivering aid to Gaza by land and air. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of brothers and friends working alongside Jordan to provide relief to the people there.
