Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday met with visiting Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, at the Grand Serail to discuss the escalating regional crisis.

The meeting also included the Jordanian Ambassador to Beirut, Walid al-Hadid, and Safadi’s diplomatic advisor.

Mikati expressed deep gratitude to King Abdullah II for Jordan’s unwavering support, particularly in efforts to halt Israeli aggression and ensure adherence to United Nations Resolution 1701. “Lebanon greatly appreciates the aid provided by the Kingdom through the air bridge between Amman and Beirut to assist those displaced by the ongoing aggression,” Mikati stated.

Safadi emphasized Jordan’s commitment to solidarity with Lebanon, saying, “I am here at the direction of His Majesty as a message of absolute support for our brotherly Lebanon in the face of Israeli aggression.”

Moreover, Safadi stressed Jordan’s readiness to assist Lebanon and condemned Israel’s actions as a blatant violation of internat
ional law.

Regarding regional security, Safadi affirmed, “Jordan will not be a battlefield for anyone,” highlighting the nation’s priority to protect its citizens.

The Jordanian Minister then called for an immediate ceasefire.

‘The responsibility for escalation lies solely with Israel. We support Lebanon’s willingness to implement Resolution 1701 fully, but Israel must comply,’ he added.

Safadi underscored the Arab consensus against aggression in Gaza and the need for a sustainable resolution.

“The only path to peace and stability is the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination,” he asserted. Safadi concluded that “Jordan’s stability is firm,” reiterating the nation’s united rejection of violence against Lebanon and Palestine.
