Doha: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and end the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip, in a phone call on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Safadi stressed the importance of concluding an exchange agreement that achieves an immediate ceasefire, ensures the opening of all crossings to allow sufficient and immediate humanitarian aid into all parts of the Gaza Strip, and enables UN organizations to distribute it.

He emphasized that stopping the killing of the people of Gaza and ending the inhumane starvation policies implemented by Israeli forces must be a priority, one that demands the unified efforts of the international community.

The two sides also reviewed the strategic partnership between Jordan and the EU and the continued efforts to strengthen it in all areas, in a way that enhances efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
